The Greatest Mustache Ever Tournament

Movember is upon us, and countless men will be growing their mo to help raise awareness and funds towards men’s health — and to have a little fun. But unlike years past, mustaches are no longer something to smirk at. The mustache is back as one of the most popular facial hair styles you can wear.

But all this mustache mania has us thinking — who has the greatest mustache of all time?

We aim to find out once and for all.

We picked 64 iconic mustaches and created a tournament bracket similar to our Greatest Beard Ever Bracket. The mustaches range from iconic to imposing to culturally impactful. With your votes, one mo will be crowned the greatest mustache of all time.

The Greatest Mustache Ever Tournament will run throughout November. There will be six rounds over several weeks, as indicated below.

First round: November 8-9
Second round: November 11-13
Sweet 16: November 15-16
Elite Eight: November 18-20
Final Four: November 22-23
Championship: November 26-29

In each round, you can vote on each matchup. Whichever mustache gets the most votes wins the matchup and moves on to the next round. We’ll update the bracket after every round.

Cast your votes, and let's crown a champion!

HOW WE PICKED THE 64 MUSTACHES

Picking just 64 mustaches to put in the tournament was no simple task. To help make it a little easier, we used some general criteria:

  1. We only considered true mustache styles (no beards or goatees).
  2. We only considered real people (no fictional characters, cartoons, etc.).
  3. We gave preference to those who consistently have a mustache or are known for their mustache.
