The Beards of ‘Game of Thrones’

The Beards of ‘Game of Thrones’

Sunday night brought the much-anticipated season five premiere of Game Of Thrones, and with it came the full gamut of beard styles for fans of Urban Beardsman Magazine to discuss and dissect. Although some fans of the show may have been watching and waiting for the next brutal death scene (here’s looking at you, Viper,) most Beardsmen were busy admiring the facial hair of some of our favorite characters. Let’s take a look at the different beards in the HBO creation of George R. R. Martin’s A Song Of Ice and Fire novels:

From the youthful and well manicured beard of Daario Naharis (played by Dutch actor Michiel Huisman) to his much older, but just as well-groomed counterpart Davos Seaworthy (brought to life by Liam Cunningham,) many viewers came away impressed at the quality beardsmanship on display from these two.

As the show quickly moved to The Wall, we were reminded of how Jon Snow (played by Kit Harrington) obviously uses a kitten and some milk to trim his attempt at looking rugged, while the monstrous, ginger beard of Tormund Giantsbane (played by Norway’s Kristofer Hivju) laughs and points at him.

The real treat of the premier brought the (SPOILER ALERT!) newly grown badassery to the face of everyone’s favorite Imp, Tyrion Lannister (played to perfection by Peter Dinklage).

Despite the extended absence of everyone’s favorite bearded giant, Hodor (played by real-life Beardbrand product enthusiast Kristian Nairn), this season of Game of Thrones promises to keep our attention.

Which beard do you believe fared the best on Sunday night’s premiere? Let us know in the comments below.
