What Makes Beardbrand Beard Oil So Amazing?
We use premium carrier oils that are non-comedogenic and have no impact on your body’s natural chemistry. Our Beard Oil is free of endocrine disruptors and does not inhibit the production of DHT (the testosterone byproduct that enables you to grow a beard).
Learn more about the key ingredients in Beardbrand Beard Oil:
Jojoba Oil: The chemical structure of Jojoba oil resembles sebum—that all-important oil your body naturally produces—making Jojoba oil an all-around banger of an ingredient for keeping dry, itchy skin at bay.
Abyssinian Oil: Abyssinian oil is lightweight and absorbed quickly into hair and skin. Loaded with fatty acids and vitamins, Abyssinian oil helps improve hair texture and hydration. Oh yeah, all those antioxidants have been shown to reduce inflammation and slow down the effects of aging.
Castor Oil: Castor oil forms a protective barrier on the skin, preventing too much moisture from escaping. It's also great for preventing split ends and softening hair while adding a healthy shine.
Babassu Oil: Babassu oil is antimicrobial, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial. Its moisturizing qualities help restore hair elasticity and health and aid in the prevention of water loss. Plus, this stuff is non-comedogenic (fancy talk for “doesn’t clog your pores”).
Will Beard Oil Make My Beard Grow Thicker?
Our Beard Oil promotes beard growth and thickness by helping your beard and skin stay healthy, conditioned, and hydrated. This allows your beard to grow to the full potential of your genetic capabilities, giving it a thicker and fuller appearance. Beard growth is determined by genetics, and topical products like Beard Oil can’t change your beard-growing DNA.
Is Beard Oil Safe for All Skin Types
The active ingredients in Beardbrand Beard Oil all score between 0 and 2 on the comedogenic scale, meaning they are considered suitable for all skin types and have a low likelihood of clogging your pores.
Note: the comedogenic scale is just one of many factors that help us predict how your skin will react to an ingredient. Ingredients derived from plants and fruits are often allergenic, but this is a potential side effect with all cosmetic products — not one that is solely exclusive to beard oil. Some people may experience allergic reactions to ingredients used in beard oils. Fragrance blends found in beard oils can also cause irritation for people with sensitive skin. Always spot-test a new beard oil to ensure your skin doesn’t react to it.
What's the Difference Between Beard Oil and Utility Oil
There is no difference between Beardbrand Beard Oil and Beardbrand Utility Oil. We temporarily rebranded Beard Oil to Utility Oil to highlight it's versatility as a face, skin, and hair moisturizer. Utility Oil and Beard Oil have always shared the same exact formula and ingredients.
WHY IS MY UTILITY BALM GRAINY?
Beardbrand Utility Balm does not have the ordinary and typical texture you might find in other balms. And we think that’s a good thing.
Most beard balms and beard butters are made with only shea butter. But Beardbrand Utility Balm features shea, mango, and cocoa butter. That’s three times the all-natural and ultra-hydrating benefits for your beard. But that’s not all — we formulated Beardbrand Utility Balm to be a product you can use on more than your beard. That means we avoided commonly used beard balm ingredients like coconut and avocado oil. Why? Because those oils have a high likelihood of clogging your pores if you use them on your face and skin.
This concentration of all-natural butters in Utility Balm means some texture and crystallization will occur. That’s how you can tell Beardbrand Utility Balm is made with multiple high-quality, all-natural butters. As they say — the proof is in the pudding. Simply warm the Utility Balm in your hands by pressing your palms together for 5 seconds to melt the crystals. Then, apply anywhere for all-day hydration.
It’s an extra step, but it’s so worth it.
HOW DO I USE UTILITY BALM?
A little goes a long way, so start with a small finger-full, warm between hands, and apply to… well, anywhere on your body. Apply more as needed. Want to get the most out of your Utility Balm? Keep reading to see our 11 favorite ways to use Utility Balm.
IS UTILITY BALM SAFE FOR ALL SKIN TYPES?
Beardbrand Utility Balm is suitable for all beard types. Utility Balm has some ingredients with a score of 3 or higher on the comedogenic scale, meaning that it may clog pores when used as a face moisturizer. Utility Balm is suitable for most skin types, but if you have oily skin or are prone to acne, we recommend using Beardbrand Beard Oil as a face moisturizer instead of Utility Balm.
Note: the comedogenic scale is just one of many factors that help us predict how your skin will react to an ingredient. Ingredients derived from plants and fruits are often allergenic, but this is a potential side effect with all cosmetic products — not one that is solely exclusive to Utility Balm. Some people may experience allergic reactions to ingredients used in Utility Balm. Fragrance blends found in beard oils can also cause irritation for people with sensitive skin.
