Apply 2–4 sprays of Utility Deodorant to dry underarms and anywhere else you want extra odor protection. Yes, even there. Utility Deodorant provides 12+ hours of odor protection.

How Does Utility Deodorant Stop Odor?

Beardbrand Utility Deodorant features three natural odor-fighting ingredients — Cleavers Extract, Zinc, and Mandelic Acid. Cleavers extract is a naturally growing herb with tons of anti-inflammatory benefits. Zinc neutralizes the fatty acids that cause body odor while also slowing the growth of funk-causing bacteria. Almond-derived mandelic acid targets body-odor-causing bacteria instead of just covering them up. But that’s not all — mandelic acid also exfoliates your skin, keeping your pit pores free and clear.

Why Am I Sweating More With This Deodorant?

Beardbrand aluminum-free Deodorant is not an antiperspirant. Antiperspirants work by clogging your pores so sweat can't escape. Unnatural, right? Beardbrand Deodorant won't prevent your body from doing its natural thing. It will neutralize the odor-causing bacteria found in sweat and leave your pits smelling awesome. If you've been using an antiperspirant, your body will need time to adjust. Since you're no longer gunking up your sweat glands, you may experience some slight sweat chafing, and an increase in more-pungent-than-usual underarm wetness as your body creates a healthy microbiome under your arms. This is natural and typically only lasts two to three weeks.

Are you switching from an aluminum-based deodorant to the Utility Deodorant?

If so, you need to expect changes. The big one is you should now expect sweat to come out of your pits. The second one is that your skin’s microbiome might need time to rebalance. Generally, this can take up to two weeks.

During this transition period, you might wanna consider keeping the Utility Deodorant on hand if things start getting more funky than normal.

How long should the product block odor?

We specifically formulated this product to get you through the day (12 hours). So you can apply it in the morning and come home still smelling great. But if you have plans to go out again that night, it might be good to do another blast before you go out.

Why doesn’t it last 72 hours like others?

Like everything in life, there are tradeoffs. For one, I don’t want a product that stays on my skin for 72 hours. Second, a product with a high amount of fixatives will feel stickier, heavier, and leave more of a residue.

We lean toward a natural feeling when designing this product. We want your pits to feel normal, we want your clothes to not be left with residue and stains, and we want you to smell great.

We designed the product for most people’s lives and schedules, not the extreme cases where you can’t shower for 3 days.

Can I Use Utility Deodorant Anywhere on My Body?

Will Utility Deodorant Stain My Clothes?

How many sprays should I use?

Most guys will be switching from a stick deodorant, and a spray deodorant is a little different. I’ve found that between 2 and 4 sprays is optimal. It’s not uncommon for me to slightly miss my first spray and then nail the next three.

I will spray from about 2“ - 3” away from my pits, with each spray being about 1“ apart. Then I’ll do a little wiggle to work it in.

If you find the spray is running down your side, you are either spraying too close or too many sprays.

How many sprays are in a bottle?

There are about 650 sprays per bottle. So if you only use it as an underarm deodorant (3 sprays per pit), you get about 3.5 months of use out of a bottle.
