The Greatest Beard Ever Tournament Bracket

It’s never been done before—a tournament bracket to crown one bearded champion. So, we’ve selected 64 of the greatest beards this world has ever seen and your votes will determine the winner.

The Beardbrand Greatest Beard Ever Tournament Bracket will run concurrently with the NCAA Tournament. There will be a total of six rounds over several weeks, as indicated below:

First round: March 16-17
Second round: March 18-20
Sweet 16: March 23-24
Elite Eight: March 25-27
Final Four: March 30-31
Championship game: April 1-3

In each round, you can vote on each matchup. Whichever beard gets the most votes wins the matchup and moves on to the next round. We’ll update the bracket after every round.

HOW WE PICKED THE 64 BEARDS

Selecting just 64 beards to put in the tournament was no simple task. To help make it a little easier, we used some general criteria:

1. We only considered full beard styles (no mustaches, goatees, or partial beard styles).
2. We only considered real people (no fictional characters, cartoons, etc.).
3. We gave preference to those who consistently have a beard or are known for their beard.

REGIONS

We divided the 64 beards into 4 different regions:

Music
Rockstars, rappers, folkies, and producers with iconic beards.

Sports
Athletes have always pushed the boundaries of facial hair—they invented the playoff beard, after all.

History
The best beards from the golden age of facial hair. If they’re no longer living, they’re in the history category.

Actors/Other
This category includes actors, television personalities, and of course, the beards behind Beardbrand.

Ultimately, we know that some pretty epic beards didn’t make the cut. But hey, it wouldn’t be madness without all those bubble teams that don’t make it into the tournament, right?
