The Great Beard Trend Debate Rages On
Well gentleman, it’s 2016 and I’m sure by now we’re all getting a little tired of article after article emerging predicting that this is the week the “beard trend” is going to end. Yet it never does, and we all go on our merry way with our beards. Well in case you thought the debate was fizzling out, Huffington Post is back to kick the tires and light the fires before fully reigniting the debate, as they have published yet another article questioning the coming beard trend apocalypse.
The article entitled “Is It Boom Or Bust For The Beard Trend?” states that “Facial hair gives men the opportunity to express themselves and to “accessorize” in ways they might not be able to otherwise. It’s a statement about who they are and how they want to be perceived by others.
But one question remains: Is the beard still in, or is it going out of style? Are we going back to stubble or a clean-shaven look? What is the future of facial hair?”
This question has been asked countless times before, and what seems most fascinating is that every article that claims to be searching for an answer ends up following the same arc – pose the question of whether or not beards are going out of style, talk about facial hair options, confirm beards are still righteous and aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. But surely Huffington Post is here to shake things up.
Not even a little bit.
“There are a lot of thoughts out there about the kind of impression the beard makes — especially on women — but even fashion and beauty expert Brooke from KBStyled said, ‘With the growing trend of men’s personal care products and annual events such as Movember, it seems that beards (and all facial hair) is here to stay… She is absolutely right — it is plain to see that the beard is still in full force, and it won’t be going anywhere for a long time to come. It’s here to stay.”
Wow, riveting journalism here guys. Really glad you cracked the case.
Bottom line, gentleman – we’re going to keep rocking our beards, whether the media likes it or not. Now go forth and beard on!
