Who I Am
I’m Vasilis Maneas, a 31 year old professional photographer, boxer, and book addict. I believe that knowledge never ends and that as long as anyone lives, they’re capable of opening their minds and widening their thoughts from within a book or through personal self-improvement.
What I Do
As a photographer I specialize in weddings and Christenings, and while I do shoot many other things (such as people and events), weddings are my real passion. I love working with people as they’re celebrating a joyous moment. Each couple has their own story, and I love that I am the one that helps them tell it through my images. Outside of my business I’ve been boxing since I was 20 years old, and I’m a firm believer that a good physical condition makes for a happier and healthier man. There’s a phrase my ancestors abide by “νοῦς ὑγιής ἐν σώματι ὑγιεῖ” which translates to “A healthy mind lives a healthy body,” and I do my best to embody that.
Where I Live
I was born in Veria, Greece and I now live in Thessaloniki, along with my parrots (strange companions, I know, but they’re fun as well).
Why I Beard
It all started when I first begin to grow facial hair, and tried every possible look with it I could. I never really believed that shaving was for me, and I kept with that belief. While I’ve always had a beard, 3 years ago I decided to let it grow as much as I could.
Your beard makes you different, unique, and despite people trying to convince me to shave, I stuck with it. Now it’s a part of my identity and my marketing brand. And I like it.
